NZCCM Whangarei Community Day
Reflection upon ‘The Cloud of Unknowing’

“For centuries, mystics have groped for words in which to account for the supreme reality of this experience which not only illuminates a person's mind and fills their heart with new strength, but even radically transforms their whole life.  All this is said in classic and unforgettable pages by “The Cloud of Unknowing”, the work of an anonymous 14th century English writer.”
- Thomas Merton

This writing brings insight and encouragement to those who practise meditation in this day and age. During out time together we will reflect on the themes offered in this classic text and enter into two periods of meditations.

All are welcome, both experienced meditators and those new to Christian meditation.

Facilitator: Michael Dougherty

As well as being a long time meditator, Michael is also NZCCM Northland Coordinator for the last twenty or so years, leading the Whangarei group weekly.

Michael is a retired secondary school teacher, followed by several years as a shiatsu practitioner in Auckland and Whangarei. He has had a lifelong interest in mysticism and spirituality.
