Bonnevaux Pilgrimage Retreat

May 18th - 23rd, 2027

Members of the New Zealand and Australian Christian Meditation Communities will join together for this pilgrimage and retreat at Bonnevaux Abbey, France.  

It is hoped that Fr Laurence Freeman OSB will host the retreat if he is available. Fr Laurance is the spiritual leader of the World Community for Christian Meditation and lives at Bonnevaux Abbey.

This retreat is:

  • A five-day residential retreat at Bonnevaux Abbey, in Pointiers, France - home of the World Community for Christian Meditation.

  • Suitable for people who have been meditating seriously for some time

  • A time of silence and stillness with a daily flow of meditation, contemplative walks and gathering as a group.

  • An opportunity to go deeper by being present to ourselves and to God in this special place steeped in Christian meditation and Benedictine hospitality.

Date: Tuesday 18th May – Sunday 23rd May 2027

Leaders:The event organisers for this Bonneveaux pilgrimage are Vincent Maire (New Zealand) Sandy Andrews (Australia). Subject to his availability, Fr Laurence Freeman will host and facilitate the retreat. We will keep you updated on this possibility closer to the time.

Retreat Cost

Rates for 2027 have yet to be finalised however indicative costs are:

  • Single room with ensuite bathroom: €140 per day/night

  • Single room with shared bathroom: €120 per day/night

  • Shared room (ensuite bathroom): €110 per day/night (per person)

Final costs will be announced in September 2026.

Registration is open. As Bonnevaux can cater for up to 40 pilgrims it is advised to register your interest early.
