‘Meditation as Homecoming’ with Rev Rosie Dell

A conversation with Rev Rosie Dell

Rev Rosie Dell is a seasoned meditator who is committed to serving our growing community as the National Co-ordinator. She is a spiritual director and Anglican priest, currently ministering as Vicar at Whangamata Anglican Church. She has been involved with NZCCM for many years, establishing groups and attending WCCM training in Penang and Brisbane.

What have been the gifts of having a personal meditation practice in your life?

Meditation for me feels like coming home.  It's an opportunity for me to simply BE.  In this quiet time of ‘being’ I know at a deep level that God is meeting me there, in my heart.

How has this practice borne fruit in your life?

Meditation is simple and demands nothing of me and yet at the same time it opens the door to everything I need. It brings me a peace such as that which Jesus spoke of and at the same time offers an opening to the eternal. Over time meditation has brought me a deep confidence in knowing the loving heart of God.

How important has community been in supporting your meditation practice?

My meditation practice truly flourished went I started going to a weekly group. There I grew in depth and understanding through the teaching, alongside becoming part of the community. Yes we can and do meditate alone but meditating in community brings a whole new lived sense of belonging.

As the new NZCCM National Co-ordinator, what are your hopes for our community?

Rosie?
