‘A Peaceful Path’ with Linda Polaschek
A conversation with Linda Polaschek
Linda Polaschek is an experienced meditator and member of NZCCM. She was the NZCCM National Co-ordinator for xx years.
What have been the gifts of having a personal meditation practice?
There are many gifts:
Having a prayer practice that doesn’t rely on how I feel or if I have anything to say to God.
Knowing that I am in God’s presence even though my mind is often sliding off into thoughts.
Belonging to a tradition of prayer practice, which I share with the meditating community, both in person and through books, websites, YouTube recordings. This community grounds me as I stumble along this life-giving path
I can meditate anywhere and carry the practice with me each day, wherever I am.
Peace and confidence that I have found a spiritual path that is right for me. At the same time recognising that others may find other paths which suit them.
How has this practice borne fruit in your life?
I have an underlying serenity that my life is in God’s hands and that I am being supported and guided each day. A growth in patience and trust in the God who loves everyone.
How important has community been in supporting your meditation practice?
Without the NZCCM community I would not have learned about Christian Meditation. Sharing with others on the same path is inspiring and reassuring for me. This is a group where I can share the practice, learn and contribute the insights it brings.
