HOW GOSPEL STORIES HELP OUR MEDITATION
Led by Fr Alan Roberts, St Francis Retreat Centre, 50 Hillsborough Rd, Hillsborough, Auckland, August 2nd to 4th, 2013.
Alan is a priest of the Archdiocese of Wellington and was ordained in 1972. He has had an interest in the contemplative prayer / meditation movement since he attended the Ignatian Spirituality Centre in 1976. The weekend will be based around several gospel stories and will draw on the wisdom and insight of participants to help us deepen our conviction of the relevance of prayer. MEDITATION DAY – THE JOURNEY OF MEDITATION
Choosing to meditate is a decisive moment in your spiritual path, similar to turning on the ignition of a car. The journey begins, a journey which proceeds by stages. This day is an opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of Christian Meditation. CHRISTIAN MEDITATION WITH DONAGH O’SHEA op
A programme of seven sessions in Auckland, 11–17 September 2013. Fr Donagh O’Shea is director of the Dominican Retreat Centre, Tallaght Village, Dublin. He offers days of reflection on a range of themes including: meditation and contemplation; time with the mystics; using clay and photography in approaching meditation; creation as “God’s first book”; the variety of methods and approaches to meditation and contemplation.
